The Colombian Consulate General in Miami presented a special recognition to Dr. Carlos Ramírez-Mejía, a Miami-based neurologist, for his outstanding professional career and his contributions to South Florida’s Hispanic community.

The honor, presented on [July 22, 2025 — date to confirm], recognized Dr. Ramírez-Mejía “for his outstanding trajectory in neurology, his scientific leadership, and his ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of the South Florida community, honoring through his work the excellence of Colombian talent abroad.”

The certificate was signed by Oscar Fernando Marmolejo Roldán, Consul General of Colombia in Miami, during a ceremony held at the Consulate’s offices, attended by members of the Colombian community in South Florida.

For Dr. Ramírez-Mejía, the recognition holds special meaning: “Being honored by the country where I was born, while practicing medicine in service of the Miami community, is a reminder of why I chose neurology — to be there for people in the moments they need it most.”

With this distinction, the Colombian Consulate highlights the work of Colombian professionals who, from abroad, continue to honor their country’s name through their daily work.
